Highly Efficient Decarbonization Inc Contactor Captures Carbon at Lower Cost
Carbon Capture Importance
If CO2 is the chief driver of our climate challenge, why not just remove CO2 from air?
Various carbon capture technologies are in development as potential solutions to our climate challenge.
Types of Carbon Capture
Generally speaking, these technologies fall into two categories: Some capture CO2 from flue gasses, such as in industrial plants, known as a point source carbon capture. Other technologies extract CO2 from the air around us, referred to as Direct Air Capture of CO2. Here, air is passed through ‘contactors’ where its CO2 is selectively separated and captured by the contactor sorbent.
Decarbonization Inc Contactor Reduces Carbon Capture Cost
Direct Air Capture of CO2 is costly. We have developed a smaller, highly efficient and proprietary contactor to capture CO2 from the air faster and more efficiently than other contactors, needing less costly sorbent, markedly lowering the total cost of CO2 capture.
When sufficient CO2 is captured in the contactor, it is released and collected in a special process. Next, CO2 is either permanently stored underground, or turned into industrial or commercial products.
One day, carbon capture may become an integral part of our climate solution. Decarbonization Inc is working hard to make sure our technology will play a role in that solution.
